1. What are the video requirements?

The live performance must not have cuts or editing. It can be registered at home, in a studio or taken from a concert.

We do accept multi-display videos in which different musicians play from different places.

2. Can I join the contest if the video lasts more than 7 minutes?

Absolutely yes, the length limit is just indicative because if you reach the semi-finals your video will be cut to make it lasts 7 minutes and then posted on our website.

The important thing is that the video must be smaller than 2GB.

3. How can I upload the first video?

In order to upload the first video, firstly you must complete a form, pay the inscription fee (via Paypal - credit card - bank transfer):

Under25
To participate you must:
1. Complete every section of the Participation Form
2. pay € 25 for the first video sent, and € 15 starting from the second video.
3. Upload a video performance of a maximum duration of 7 minutes, a maximum file size of 2 GB (gigabytes) in one of the following video formats: .avi, .mov, .mpeg, .mp4.
 
Pros & Amateurs
To participate you must:
1. Complete every section of the Participation Form
2. Pay € 70 for the first video sent, and € 15 starting from the second video.
3. Upload a video performance of a maximum duration of 7 minutes, a maximum file size of 2 GB (gigabytes) in one of the following video formats: .avi, .mov, .mpeg, .mp4.
 

After the payment you can upload your video.

4. How do I upload the second video?
  • For new participants:
    You have to sign up with your email & the password provided by us via e-mail, then the procedure to follow is the same as for the first video (payment of €15 + filling the form);
  • Ex-participants 8th edition: You have to sign up with your email & the password provided by us via e-mail, then the procedure to follow is the same as for the first video (FREE);

5. Can I upload my video at a later date?

Yes, you can upload your video until the deadline (June 30th, 2023), but we strictly recommend you to realize the payment and to upload the video as soon as possible.

6. What are the categories?
  • Under 25:
    The Under 25 category is open to all musicians who are aged 25 (or younger) and that are not managed by a promotion or record production agency.
  • Pros & Amateurs:
    All the other musicians that don’t comply with the Under 25’s category requirements will compete in the Pros & Amateurs’ category.

N.B.: If a trio band has one member of 25 years old (or younger) and two members of 26 years old, if the latters aren’t managed by someone or are not affiliated with a promotion or record production agency, the band can compete in the under 25’s category. So, THERE’S FLEXIBILITY.

7. How can I vote for the Web community Prize?

Remember that semi-finals are entirely held on our website: www.7virtualjazzclub.net.

So, if you want to vote for your favourite musician you have to register on our website. After the registration, you will be allowed to access the video section and to express a vote from 1 to 5. Every video can be voted only once by each user.

The Web Community Prize is given to the video with the highest score, for each category, at the end on the 30th day after the publication of the semi-finalists.

8. What do I have to do if during the inscription procedure the website does not respond?

Don’t worry, it will take its time but eventually it will load everything.

9. What type of songs are allowed?

You can either decide to play a cover or your own original song.

Moreover, voice can be considered as an instrument.
